IMPORTANT NOTICE - Fraudulent Suspension Emails Targeting Domain Holders
Posted by L F on 28 October 2015 01:18 PM
It has come to our attention that domain holders are being targeted with fraudulent emails. In an attempt to have users click on links and download files, the fraudulent emails claim your domain name has been suspended and that you have failed to respond to previous email and telephone notices.
iDotz.Net is notifying all customers and resellers to be on the lookout for these fraudulent suspension email notices. The emails are originating from registrar abuse email addresses and attempt to impersonate the abuse department of our in-house domain name registrars. These suspension emails are NOT being sent from our registrars:
DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS
DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY
DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED IN THE EMAIL
NOTE: Resellers should notify and relay this information to all their own customers immediately. If you are unsure of the validity of any email from our registrars, please contact support directly.
